Could it be Bruce Ismay's fault? The White Star Line owner, had many mistakes that all led up to the titanic sinking. Bruce Ismay, had the bulkheads reduced down to only 10 feet tall, so he could get more passengers on board. With reducing the height of the bulkheads, he only gave a small chance of the Titanic staying afloat if it would hit something, because if 5 or more bulkheads are overfilled with water, the ship would sink. If he would of kept the bulkheads at the original height, the water wouldn't have been able to fill up 5 bulkheads and the ship could of stayed above water. Above all, when the shipbuilders/designers were putting their final touches on the Titanic, Bruce ordered to take out half of the lifeboats already put onto the Titanic to make more room for extra passengers. After Bruce's order, the Titanic was left with only 16 lifeboats and 4 collapsable boats to transport the 2,200 people on board off and away from the ship, if it would sink. After the iceberg was struck, everyone was trying to get a place in a lifeboat. During all the chaos, Mr. Bruce Ismay took a place in the lifeboat for himself, instead of helping the passengers get off the ship. Bruce Ismay was saved. However, did he really deserve to get on a lifeboat after the setbacks he gave the Titanic? Could he be the one blamed for the disaster?
